What started as an idea in Melbourne, Australia resulted in the establishment of the foundation in Bosnia & Herzegovina. The geographic distance between these two nations is about as far as two countries can be apart. The love for our homeland and wish to develop it into a prosperous nation for all of its citizens, is what connects the foundation all Bosnians & Herzegovians around the world. Staying true to events and actions that kick-started our foundation, we aim to connect with our diaspora all over the world.
We want to share our story but we also want to hear yours.

If you were born in Bosnia & Herzegovina or draw roots from the country, it is likely that you live in a town/city with more successful individuals who have similar backgrounds. Some of them may be familiar to us through community activities while others are going about their careers without much interaction.
To date we have hosted and partnered up with location organisations to host meetup, networking and business forum events in dozens of cities/towns world wide.

How do I organise a networking event?
To organise a BH Futures Foundation meetup, networking event and/or business forum in your town/city reach out to us. Together we can help identify a date/time, location, catering, guest list and format. We have volunteers and supporters everywhere and we will fly out some of our students to the event so that you can SEE first hand how amazing they are. It is important to create a global network of change makers.

This wonderful city is a center for many world-class companies and we were more than happy to see people from our country working for them. At the meetup, we hosted more than 20 professionals who are entrepreneurs, but who also work for Rolls-Royce, Government of Dubai, Ericsson, Walter, Insider, Hewlett-Packard, and other amazing companies. On the 24th of August, BH Futures Foundation hosted a networking event attended by around 30 individuals in Chicago, USA. Those individuals connected to Bosnia and Herzegovina were representatives and/or supports of different organizations, which are operating in the USA with the aim to support the development of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our scholars Emina, Milan, and Momcilo together with Eddie Custovic, chair of our Foundation visited Photon Systems Instruments, a world-class company in manufacturing instrumentation for advanced measurement and imaging of optical signals in plants and algae.We also organised a meetup event with fellow Bosnians & Herzegovinians living and working in Brno. Some of the most successful Bosnians & Herzegovinians reside in Silicon Valley, the innovation hub of the world. We organised a meetup event in San Jose to bring together professionals who draw their roots from Bosnia & Herzegovina. The event allowed individuals who some instances lived less than a kilometer from each other but yet had not had the chance to meet. Read more.
Coordinator of our mentorship program, Ali Mokayes, attended the event hosted by the B&H Consulate in Munich, and organized by Pangea, our Foundation, and Masterwerk on the topic of "Knowledge Transfer and How to Establish a Successful Mentoring Program". We arranged internships for our students, make a firm partnership with two more organizations and then some. Read more.
During our Sweden tour, we visited Goteborg after Stockholm and got a chance to meet successful Bosnians and Herzegovinians who live in this city. Read more.
Germany has the largest BiH diaspora and we welcomed a large group of diverse, open and authentic professionals on this rainy Sunday afternoon in Restaurant Sarajevo traveling from Cologne, Dortmund, Nijmegen (Holland) and other key cities. Our friends from the Pangea-Netwerk made time to join to further collaborate and build synergies. Read more.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina community in Sydney had the opportunity to attend the screening of a documentary called ‘Return to Bosnia’; a documentary related to suffering, displacement and many other calamities caused by the Bosnian war in the 90s. Our foundation scholar, Rijad Saric, spoke about his personal experiences with the Foundation. Read more.
Milan, Nevena, Haris, Ali, Selma and Momčilo led by the Foundation founder Eddie Custovic, visited Sweden. They had a unique opportunity to visit Götheborg and Stockholm and enjoy multiple opportunities to present their and Foundation’s work, attend networking events, presentations and visit some great companies such as Google, Spotify and our partner Softhouse Consulting. We talked about ways in which the diaspora can improve the political, social and economic situation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in a way that allows people to heal from the traumas of the recent war. In this context, they had the opportunity to introduce to the audience our mission of empowering young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina through education, technology and global leadership. Read more.
This gathering was the first of its kind in Boston and brought together more than 70 professionals from academia, private industry, government, healthcare together with numerous senior leaders representing companies from Bosnia & Herzegovina.
