First Academy of 2020: Zenica
Adopting new skills and knowledge, connecting with our friends and colleagues is always a good idea. So, we spent the last weekend in Zenica talking about our work, good habits, and practices such as leadership, time management, and teamwork.
We started our first day with an industry visit to ArcelorMittal Zenica, the leading steel and mining company in Bosnia and Herzegovina. With their warm welcome, we learned about the history of the company and their work. After that, we went to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the hosts of our stay in Zenica, where the dean Mr. Fuad Hadžikadunić welcomed us and talked about the importance of knowledge.
We spent our first-day summarizing results with our Tatjana Vučić, chairman of our board and discussing the next steps of our Foundation. The aim of the Academy was to connect scholars and create an environment for further growth and development. We also had the honor to host Alma Dautbegović who held a workshop to our scholars about the leadership at the end of our first day. Alma flew in from Sweden just to give a workshop to our students.
Filled with energy and positive vibes, we started our second day with the presentation of our plans for the upcoming decade and presentation of our values by our board member Vernisa Rejhan-Ićindić. Later on, our communications duo, Merima and Kenan talked about the importance of self-branding and types of communication. We completed our day with parallel sessions on time management self-development led by our board members Haris and Milan.
In the end, if we want to summarize our two days at the Academy in a few words, it would be like this: positive vibes, new knowledge and friendship. We look forward to the next challenges and activities ahead.
