Vera Šnajder Award 2022 Awardee Emina Tahirović goes to Portugal

One of our Vera Šnajder winners, Emina Tahirović, packed her bags and traveled to Lisbon, Portugal to attend the amazing ICAART 2023 conference. This was her moment to show the world her power and knowledge, especially when presenting her research - “Interpretability and Explainability of Logistic Regression Model for Breast Cancer Detection”.

“When I started writing my paper, I did not think that it would lead me to a conference. My professor and I chose the conference together and submitted the paper, although I had no idea how I would finance the registration and departure. However, after my professor suggested that I should apply for the Vera Šnajder Award, I began to think about that departure as something that could happen”, said Emina.

The ICAART 2023 conference gathered experts in the field of artificial intelligence and agents from all around the world. Emina had the opportunity to attend many presentations of state-of-the-art works and many other inspiring keynote presentations.

With the support of the Vera Šnajder Award, this amazing event allowed her to learn more about current trends in artificial intelligence and agent systems, and also meet and network with many young scientists and expert speakers. In a world where artificial intelligence has rapidly advanced in a short time, it is necessary to study and explain these models so that their applicability to everyday problems can be realized.

Thanks to this conference, this opportunity gave her a better understanding of AI and many new ideas to work and research on!

“I am grateful for this opportunity and I will try to continue to justify the title of winner of the Vera Šnajder Award. Going to the ICAART 2023 conference and presenting my first conference paper under the auspices of the Vera Šnajder Award has been an unforgettable experience that has inspired me to continue my scientific research work and contribution to the Bosnian scientific scene in the future.”

We are happy and grateful to be the ones who offer amazing opportunities like these. Emina, we are proud of you glad that you met so many new people, and that you showed the world what you’re made of! You are one extraordinary person who will do wonders, one research paper at a time.
