Hands-On Quantum Physics and Computing with Quantum Games - FLS Workshop by Sara Vanovac
Attending the hands-on workshop on quantum physics and computing for our students was like stepping into a whole new world of possibilities. Through interactive games like quantum chess and other quantum-inspired activities, students explored the concepts of superposition, entanglement, and measurement—key principles that power the quantum world.
The session blended theory and practice, introducing students to the building blocks of quantum computing, including quantum gates and circuits. For those intrigued by game design, there was a creative twist - resources on how to incorporate quantum effects into games using Unity.
The highlight of the day was the quantum chess tournament, where students applied their newfound understanding in an engaging and competitive setting. Accessible to participants with no prior knowledge of quantum physics, the workshop also offered advanced materials for those that want to dive deeper.
To anyone passionate about game design, cryptography, chess, or the cutting-edge technologies of quantum computing, this workshop was a thrilling opportunity to connect computer science and physics in an entirely new way.
