Hana Babić receives prestigious Amgen research fellowship for Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich
Congratulations to our junior scholar and third year genetics student at the Faculty of Natural Sciences in Sarajevo, Hana Babić, who received the prestigious Amgen research fellowship to spend the summer (9 weeks) at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU). At LMU she will be conducting research on the topic of “Advanced Imaging of Cancer Metastasis in Whole Mouse Body”. Hana will be supervised by a world class researcher leader, Prof. Ali Ertürk who is the director of Institute of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (iTERM) at LMU. He developed a technique that enables visualization of the entire mouse body at the cellular level.
Interestingly, Hana was accepted to three out of four extremely competitive summer research programs. Since the Amgen Scholars Program at LMU in Munich had been her favorite from the very beginning, her choice was easy.
It is important to note that Hana has been closely mentored by our alumni Kenan Krakovic, who is currently a Ph.D. candidate at EPFL Lausanne. Kenan devotes a lot of time to mentoring biology students and helping them achieve their dreams the way he realised his.
