Foundation Academy in Brčko: teambuilding, culture, history and learning
As March was drawing to a close, the scholars of BH Futures Foundation capped off their quarter with a memorable two-day Academy in Brčko. This year’ academies have evolved into a two part gathering, with the first part being a mini conference and the second an internal focused learning day with our scholars.
Following the resounding success of the "Leaders of Tomorrow" Conference on Friday, we spent the entire Saturday learning & networking. The day began with an engaging session on assertive communication and effective strategies for connecting with others. Through interactive exercises, such as the "Donkey Chasers" example, participants honed their communication skills and learned how to convey their ideas effortlessly.
During the morning session, junior scholar Dalila Arapović showcased her redesigned BHFF Scholar Guide, unveiling numerous updates to enhance user experience. After a refreshing lunch break, scholars from the volunteering department, Lejla Heleg and Alejna Hodžić, led a unique retrospective activity. Attendees reflected on their scholar journeys, sharing cherished moments and offering insights on areas for improvement.
This inspiring session seamlessly transitioned into an enriching city tour led by renowned Ida Fazlić. Highlights of the tour included visits to The City Hall, a national monument renowned for its pseudo-Moorish architecture, and the Foundation of “Legat kuća Ekmečić,ˮ dedicated to preserving the cultural legacy of the Ekmečić family.
The Academy in Brčko was a testament to the Foundation's commitment to fostering growth, learning, and appreciation among scholars, as well as to the aim of discovering the hidden gems, such as Brčko district, in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
