Bringing Poetry to Life: The Renaissance Classroom

Painting a mural is akin to creating living poetry on a wall. Every brushstroke brings a new dimension to the space and spirit, inspiring, connecting, and enlivening the world around us.

In recent months, our junior scholars have been working on the project "Renaissance Classroom: Fostering Creativity through Innovative Design." The team was composed of architecture and civil engineering students who utilized their knowledge and skills acquired during their studies to design a creative solution for the space, with divided roles:

• Medina Porić, Team Leader and Project Manager

• Lamija Tutnjić, Design Strategy Coordinator

• Meliha Džindo and Tahir Kapetanović, responsible for the technical, logistical, and financial aspects of the project

Emphasizing Medina's outstanding team engagement and exceptional leadership skills, Lamija's innovative ideas and precisely crafted design strategy, along with the team's collective efforts in organizing and managing the project's financial aspects, is of paramount importance. The overarching objective of the project was to harness creativity in reshaping and revitalizing a classroom environment for the children attending Mula Mustafa Bašeskija Elementary School in Sarajevo.

Thanks to the dedication and ambition demonstrated by these students throughout months of meticulous planning and successful execution, aided by volunteers, the project was effectively realized. 

The mural, adorning the wall of the children's classroom, covers an area of 20 square meters, portraying a captivating natural landscape. It showcases inspirational elements crafted using diverse techniques, such as a fairy-tale sunset sky and the enchanting reflection of a mystical river, adorned with floral motifs, lush greenery, towering mountains and awe-inspiring waterfalls framed by the serene presence of deer standing nearby, adding to the tranquil beauty of the scene.

We take immense pride in our dedicated students, whose passion and commitment have been instrumental in the creation of a stunning mural that will grace our school for years to come, enriching the experiences of our young learners. We anticipate the ongoing success of this project and the innovative revitalization of our entire classroom. 

Our heartfelt wishes go out to our students, Medina Porić and Lamija Tutnjić, as they continue their creative endeavors for the continuation of this project. May they achieve their aspirations and infuse this space with their unique vision, as they persist in their work on this project, utilizing modern architectural tools to its fullest potential.
