Researchers Meetup in Sarajevo: A Day of Insights and Networking
On June 22, the Bosnia & Herzegovina Researchers Meetup was held at Hotel Hills in Sarajevo, bringing together some of the brightest minds in the field. Organized by the Bosnia & Herzegovina Futures Foundation (BH Futures Foundation) and the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS), this event was an excellent opportunity for researchers to network, share their achievements, and learn about new tools and resources.
Event Highlights
The agenda was packed with insightful sessions and engaging presentations:
1. Welcoming Remarks: Melvisa Kovac from the BH Futures Foundation opened the event with a warm welcome, setting a positive tone for the day. She presented the foundation's various research programs, including the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, highlighting their commitment to fostering young researchers' development.
2. Address by Prof. Zlatan Akšamija: Representing BHAAAS, Prof. Zlatan Akšamija delivered an inspiring speech about the mission of BHAAAS. He spoke about the significance of the "Days of BHAAAS" and their mentoring program, emphasizing the importance of research and collaboration within the community.
3. Presentation of 3MT Competitors: Melvisa Kovac took the stage again to introduce the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competitors and highlight their impressive accomplishments. This segment showcased the innovative research conducted by young scholars.
4. Avidnote Presentation by Valerija Eres: Valerija Eres from ZenDev presented Avidnote, a cutting-edge tool for researchers. The presentation was a hit, with the audience actively engaging and asking questions. ZenDev generously offered a 50% lifetime discount code for all attendees.
5. Informal Networking: The event concluded with an informal networking session, allowing young researchers to connect and discuss their work in a relaxed environment. This provided a great platform for building new relationships and fostering future collaborations.
