Our students actively participated in BH Engineering Weeks events

November and December were reserved for the implementation of the “BH Engineering Weeks 2019” project, that was organized by BH Futures Foundation and BH Engineering Weeks , and during which students and members of the Foundation actively participated as volunteers and members of the organizing committee at conferences and similar events, both in large and major cities across BiH and in their home cities as well. This project, which was successfully implemented in our country for the second year in a row, has taken place in large cities such as Tuzla, Bihać, Sarajevo and Banja Luka, but also in smaller cities such as Lukavac, Živinice, Novi Grad, Gračanica, Gradačac, and Gradiška.

At central conferences in Tuzla and Sarajevo, our students participated as volunteers helping in accrediting and registering participants, lecturers, assisting on stage and catering, while at the conference in Banja Luka they also participated as organizers, lecturers, and leaders of technical and non-technical workshops. At all these conferences, participants had the opportunity to listen and meet representatives of large and successful companies in BiH and world, numerous innovators, professors, academicians, CEOs and people from the business and various branches of engineering, who gave a speech through plenary lectures and panel discussions on interesting and hot topics related to engineering and business in BiH and the world. At the beginning of November, the Arduino workshop for elementary and high school students was organized in Novi Grad by our members Ivana Čulić and Nevena Kisin. Shortly after this workshop, a visit to the local company Alfa-Mi followed by a panel discussion on the hot topic “The Way to Success in BiH”, was organized by Emina Mahmutbegović, Dženita Đulović, and Ivana Stjepić. Just a few days later, arranged is a visit to the Kovan Company, which was organized by Muhamed Isabegovic and his colleague Miralem Bulic for high school students and anyone interested in Gracanica. Then a new Arduino workshop was organized in Gradacac, this time directed by our new scholar, Arijana Beširović. The first large and central conference of this project took place in mid-November in Tuzla, where our members actively volunteered but also organized meetups with lecturers and distinguished and famous scientists and entrepreneurs, Almir Badnjević, founder and CEO of Verlab - Medical Device Verification Laboratory and Namik Hrle. IBM Fellow. Attending these meetups, our students had the opportunity to speak directly with the aforementioned scientists. Afterward, a mini-conference was organized in Lukavac by our member Nermin Đuzić on November 23, bringing together young and inspirational people, including some students from our Foundation as well, who had the opportunity to address the audience through lectures and a workshop and share their experience.

There are no such adequate words to express our happiness, satisfaction, and pride of all these young people who have invested a lot of effort, time and knowledge and have been active and useful members of the community, once again demonstrating what can be achieved when energy, enthusiasm and will are directed towards positive purposes. We congratulate them on their successful volunteering engagement and organization of these inspirational events and wish them good luck in the future and further work and development.
