Hack my Business: Winners
Last week Bosnia & Herzegovina Futures Foundation in collaboration with Book My Hostess organised our very first “Hack my business” hackathon. The concept is relatively simple, you find a company that has several challenges in their business, your bring together super creative young people, you provide them basic education around design thinking, business models and pitching and then… watch the magic happen! 20 young people in 8 teams from all over Bosnia & Herzegovina competed in our competition.
The Program
The 2 day program kicked off with a welcome ceremony design thinking workshop run by Milan Kusmuk a young Entrepreneur. Milan briefly highlighted the basic principles of design thinking and the importance of always keeping the end user in mind. The company challenges were presented by Adela Kadiric, the founder of BookMyHostess. The students spent the entire afternoon with mentors (Timur Hukic, Adela Kadiric, Almedin Beganovic and Haris Hadzic) evaluating their ideas and products.
On the second day of the program, participants took part in a workshop focused on “Pitching 101” held by Almedin Beganovic (Coordinator of Futures Makerspace projects), mastering the art of presenting their ideas. All submissions were submitted by 12:00 and the teams presented their solutions in the afternoon to a panel of experts that included Adela Kadiric (Founder), Namik Icindic, Mirza Celigija (Tech Executive @Moment One), Markus and Michael Eisbach partners (Germany).
