Currently, when talking about the IT branch, there is a big event happening in Europe- it's the European Programming Week! Many schools and colleges all around Europe are organizing IT-oriented events that celebrate this occasion and promote the profession.

In such a way, high school "Gimnazija 'dr. Mustafa Kamarić'" in Gračanica, hosted the first Outreach Programme Arduino Workshop on Saturday, October 12th, which was organized by our scholars Denis Muratović and Haris Hadžić. They both had the honor to be the lecturers at this workshop and based on the feedback from the students of the workshop - they did a great job! The workshop has been a great start for a big project of our Foundation and its Outreach Team and it is going to provide experience and knowledge to students in a way they, unfortunately, cannot get in their formal education.

The first and certainly not the last workshop of this type introduced them to the world of Arduino microcontrollers, a very popular and trending field of engineering all around the world. Our scholars showed them how to program the devices, make electronic circuits on the breadboard, connect it all and most importantly, inspired and motivated them to learn more about it.

“This is the level 1 of our workshops which is intended to introduce students to the basics of this field and it definitely won't stop there, because our team is currently doing its best to create the level 2 workshops which will be significantly more intensive and at the same time, equivalently more interesting and cool.” – said Haris Hadžić, one of the workshop’s organizers.

This event was a great example of how volunteering can contribute to our community and our development. Big thanks go to professor Nedžad Husičić, who works at the high school in Gračanica for providing help with the organization of this event. We also want to express gratitude to Mr. Sead Jahić, who is one of the people responsible for the whole organization of the BH Engineering Weeks event and also one of the Foundation’s supporters, and who was one guest speaker at this event. The next workshop is going to be on Monday, October 21st in Živinice and it is going to be held by our scholars Emina Mahmutbegović and Ivana Stjepić. Stay tuned!
