Meet our scholar Faris Likić: From studies in Sarajevo to the internship at one of the famous Institutes in Germany
It is nothing new when we say that our scholars are doing their best and utilizing the maximum from every opportunity they get for professional development and growth. Zoran Djindjic Internship Programme is only one example of a valuable internship opportunity for students from Western Balkan, where our scholars have been participating for the last several years.
This time we will be talking about our senior scholar Faris Likić, who is currently doing his internship at Fraunhofer Institute for Energy Economics and Energy System Technology IEE as a participant and scholarship recipient of the Zoran Djindjic Programme. The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, headquartered in Germany, is the world’s leading applied research organization. The Fraunhofer IEE in Kassel, where Faris is doing his internship, deals with research on the national and international transformation of energy systems. It develops technical and economical solutions to reduce further the costs of using renewable energies. Faris is working at the department for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of wind turbines and the market value of energy produced by wind turbines.
Currently, Faris is finishing his Master’s studies within the field of Power Engineering at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Sarajevo. The knowledge he acquired during his studies has created an excellent foundation for building his professional career. Here is what Faris said about his internship, plans, and engagement in BH Futures Foundation:
“I plan to work on giving young individuals a better perspective and education opportunities. The involvement in BHFF gives me the perfect opportunity to give something back by sharing the experience and knowledge gained in Germany with young peers who are passionate about sharing knowledge. The things I learn and experience in Germany would help broaden the horizons of many young people who will become change-makers in the future, and someday I wish to be someone’s role model.
